Because in the PC version of the game, multitasking isn’t that hard – you know, mouse clicking on the mini-map, keyboard shortcuts, and other such goodies make it easy to quickly navigate a large map. Thanks to the uniqueness of the game, our activities should always be divided into two categories – base management and quickly assembling an expedition team, exploring the area, looting chests, discovering enemy posts or completing the side quests mentioned above, we get money, experience and equipment.Īnd here the stairs begin. However, the real fun begins in strategic sessions where we have to worry about the proper placement of farm buildings, defending our headquarters, training suitable troops, and completing the primary and secondary mission objectives. Of course, in order not to complicate things too much, the progression system has been simplified, so we only have to distribute points in statistics and skills. Each hero represents a different class of character, so they offer different benefits to our team, require different gear, and reconsider their role on the main team. During these small tasks we have the opportunity to train a bit, take a break and focus on character development or buying new equipment. The entire title is fairly simple in structure – on the one hand we’re dealing with a mission typical of the RPG genre, where we can only lead the team of our companions, to then enter larger, more open maps and take command of the construction of one Take over military camps and prepare an army capable of plundering the enemy. Luckily, SpellForce III senses the spirit of the series very well and delivers it in a great way. Both “Eins” and “Zwei” were famous for their excellent implementation of this idea, so that the “Three” had to live up to the great expectations of the fans, and as is well known, the new approach to such a topic could stumble on so many levels that it it’s hard to count.
It’s the combination of RPG with purely racist real-time strategy that creates the magical aspect that makes the SpellForce series so special. Fortunately, there are still many people on Eo who sympathize with our hero and his companions, which will often give us the opportunity to lead not only our team of tough guys, but entire armies as well. The whole plot starts out calmly, but the further into the forest, the more things will happen and the harder our struggles for the fate of the world will become. Veterans of the series have the opportunity to see the origins of iconic characters such as Yria, Rohen Tahir, Gor or Isgrimm. What is a bloody fever, who is trying to kill us forever, why do the previously peaceful races start jumping at each other’s throats, and what does magic have to do with all this? Of course, we manage to avoid the death penalty, escape from the twisted castle and continue to search for answers to the main questions that bother us. Unfortunately, now we are in big trouble because there is a strange conspiracy due to which we are being removed from the kingdom as dangerous traitors. We start the game here as a certain Tahar, son of Isamo Tahara, who once overthrew his father’s evil rule. The fictional journey that the developers offer us will be very enjoyable both for those who are new to the whole series and for those who know the “number one” like the back of their hand. SpellForce III Reforced – The Storylineĭespite the three events visible next to the title of the game, which we are happy to take part in, they take place up to 500 years before the first part of the series, so here we are dealing with the canonical prequel of the entire brand that introduces many important characters and explains the many complicated relationships between magic and the world planet Eo. Today, almost 20 years after the premiere of the first part, the series is finally coming to consoles. The SpellForce series uniquely combines the mechanics known from classic real-time strategies like WarCraft III or other Dawn of War with cRPG gameplay directly from Neverwinter Nights.
